Oops 4 new motor mounts ,all from Moyer marine . Any thoughts on alignment .003 with a little oil and all motor mounts aligned with keel .thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Ps where would I find the HIN manufacturer number ? Cal 29 71 or 72 . Atomic 4 blueprinted and overhauled . 38 hours on engine and yes I retorqued the head and readjusted the valves at 30 hours .

Hi Ken! HIN number should be on the inside of the transom on the starboard side, fairly high up. you may have to stick your head into the lazarette with a flashlight. Some people have found it on the internal Galley bulkhead. I've heard of a couple that were on the Underside of the galley drawers and at least one that was found on the underside of the Shelf under the sink. In those years it's still possible that it will only be the hull number.

I just looked in my archives. Boats built after November 1, 1972 had to have the new HINs. Older boats will just have hull numbers. My Cal 20 has her number as described: inside of the transom, starboard side, visible inside an oval where they did not paint the 'glass covering. Contortions required to view.

On a similar note. How much thread should I see on my stuffing box ? With a new shaft and coupling ?
